“You have plenty of hair. Your look great and your hair looks fine.”

My husband and I were trying to pinpoint when the health part of my life began to derail. It started about six years ago. I began noticing my hair falling out like crazy. I have yet to be put on any medication. When I went to a doctor, the sweet man I have never met until then, says, “You have plenty of hair. Your look great and your hair looks fine.” WTH?? Seriously? Half of my freaking hair is gone and you say that my hair is fine???? Not completely oblivious, from my tests, he did notice that my heart was beating a little faster that it should be. And so, lucky me, the first high blood pressure pill was prescribed. Only meant to be temporary at the time.

As for the hair loss, I did get a wee bit of comfort from my hair stylist (the 'love' that she is and you will hear me refer to her more than once in future posts) who was very familiar with my “good’ hair. She noticed a significant difference as well. We tried a few things and nothing proved to be the cure. But hey, at least I wasn’t going mad, right? After losing some more hair and attempting to remedy the situation to the best of my ability and failing, I tried Regenix. It did help but not in the way that I was hoping. My hair was growing back in mostly but the hair shaft was continuing to get thinner and thinner. Remember in “When Harry Met Sally” and Sally is describing her awful date who plucked a strand of her hair out of her head at dinner to floss with it??? Well, I do know I used to be able to do that with my “good” hair. Sad to say, my flossing days are over (with my hair anyway). Oh stop it! I know at least one of you have done it when you were in a pinch!

I have tried so many things it’s ridiculous. I have tried: multiple lines of hair loss products (shampoos, conditioners, scalp cleaners and treatments), putting a filter on our shower head, vitamins, head and scalp massages with product, head and scalp massages without product, diet changes, switching to a different hair brush, satin pillow cases, etc. I have yet to find the cure. Hence, my search continues.

Wish me luck!
